In der vorliegenden Hausarbeit möchte ich zeigen, dass dem Geschmack eine wesentliche Rolle in Bourdieus Theorie soziokultureller Ungleichheit zukommt. Gleichwohl soll die Darstellung sich nicht auf diesen einzelnen Aspekt beschränken, sondern die size Geschmack in den größeren Rahmen von Bourdieus Theorie stellen, da mir ein Verständnis der Thesen Bourdieus nicht ohne die Klärung einiger Grundlagen seiner Theorie möglich erscheint.
In einem ersten Teil sollen daher die Begriffe Sozialer Raum und Feld und die unterschiedlichen Kapitalformen erklärt werden. Mit diesen Begriffen wird das Bourdieusche Klassenmodell erläutert. Der Begriff des Habitus wird dazu dienen, die Konstruktion von Klassen anhand objektiver Merkmale im Raum der sozialen Positionen mit den unterschiedlichen Geschmacksvarianten im Raum der Lebensstile zusammenzuführen.
In einem zweiten Teil wird dann der eigentliche Zusammenhang zwischen Geschmack und sozialer Ungleichheit aufgezeigt. Bourdieus Programm einer antikantianischen Ästhetik wird entwickelt und kurz auf seine Theorie der Kunstwahrnehmung eingegangen. Weiterhin wird dargestellt, wie die Kantische Ästhetik in der Ideologie der herrschenden Klasse fortwirkt. Anschließend werden überblicksartig die von Bourdieu unterschiedenen Geschmacksvarianten von herrschendem, mittlerem und populären Geschmack beschrieben und gezeigt, wie sie zur Reproduktion der Gesellschaftsstruktur beitragen. Schließlich werden die wichtigsten Thesen noch einmal kurz zusammengefasst.
